Compliments, comments, and complaints

We want to hear from you

Whether you’ve had a positive experience or encountered an issue, your feedback helps us enhance our services.

1. Compliments and Comments

Let us know what we’re doing well:

2. Complaints

If our service has fallen short of your expectations, we want to put things right. In the first instance you can contact the relevant court office directly. They will try to resolve the issue promptly.

Before making a complaint please be aware of what the Courts Service can and cannot help with:

Complaints we can deal with:
  • Feedback on our customer service
  • Issues with access to services or information
  • Concerns about how we’ve handled your case (excluding legal or judicial decisions)
Complaints we cannot deal with:
  • Court decisions or conduct of a case – These are under the exclusive authority of the judiciary and cannot be reviewed or changed by the Courts Service.
  • Quasi-judicial decisions – Decisions by officers such as County Registrars, the Master of the High Court, and Legal Cost Adjudicators must be appealed through the courts.
  • Complaints about legal professionals – These should be directed to the relevant professional regulatory body.

There are two different processes, depending on the type of complaint you wish to make. Choose the relevant option below:

> A. General Complaints

> B. Complaints Under the Disabilities Act 2005
