How to make a general complaint

Step 1:

Contact the relevant court office directly. They will try to resolve the issue promptly.

Step 2:

If you're not satisfied or prefer to escalate the issue, you can:

What will happen next

  • We aim to resolve complaints as quickly as possible, ideally at the first point of contact.
  • You will receive an acknowledgement within three working days, confirming:
    • the name of the officer handling your complaint, and
    • their contact details.
  • We will provide a full response within 15 working days.
    • If this is not possible, we will send an interim update explaining the reason for the delay and when you can expect a full reply.
  • We regularly review complaints to identify ways to improve our services.
  • All complaints are handled promptly, fairly, impartially and in confidence.
