Amalgamation of District Court Areas - Districts of Drogheda, Dundalk and Ardee amalgamated into one Court area of Louth - from 1 September 2025

Following approval by the Court Service Board the Statutory Instrument (S.I. No. 385 of 2025) has now been signed to amalgamate the District Court areas of Drogheda, Dundalk, and Ardee.   

From 1 September 2025 there will be one Court area of Louth covering all the electoral divisions currently covered by Drogheda, Dundalk, and Ardee.  

The number of days and sittings days each month remains unchanged.

Please note that:

•  From the 1st of September 2025 all documentation lodged to the Court Office must state District Court Area of Louth District No. 6.  Any documentation stating District Court Area of Dundalk, Ardee or Drogheda will be returned unprocessed.   
   
• Business transacted in the District Court that is initiated and not completed before commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.
