British-Irish Commercial Bar Association Conference 2026

On the 27 March, Mr Justice Woulfe attended the British-Irish Commercial Bar Association Annual Conference in Manchester, which hosted delegates from England & Wales, Scotland, Ireland and the Northern Ireland.  The theme of this year's conference was "The Laws of Contract and Unjust Enrichment". 

Mr Justice Woulfe gave the morning presentation on unjust enrichment actions, namely money had and received following the recent Supreme Court judgment in Bank of Ireland v Murray.  A summary of the Supreme Court judgment can be read here and Mr Justice Woulfe's contribution is available for download on the BICBA wesbite here.   

Other presentations included contributions from Dame Siobhán Keegan (Lady Chief Justice of Northern Ireland), Lord Burrows JSC (UK Supreme Court) and Mr Justice Henshaw (Head of the Commercial Court in England & Wales).
