Preview Event – Life inside the Railings

Life inside the Railings, 100 years ago today Anti-Treaty forces took occupation of the Four Courts. This online event is being streamed from the Court of Appeal – the former Reading Room of the Public Records Building and kicks off a programme of collaboration over the next four months with the National Archives of Ireland and the Beyond 2022 project.

Between the end of April and early July we will host our Our Four Courts 100 lecture series . Join us for 6 interesting lectures with the following speakers: The Hon. Mr. Justice Gerard Hogan, The Hon. Mr. Justice John Hedigan and a panel of speakers from the National Archives of Ireland, Liz Gillis and Las Fallon, Professor Diarmaid Ferriter, Professor Eunan O’Halpin and Ruth Cannon BL and Bláthna Ruane SC. Photographic exhibition ‘The Four Courts - 1922, before and after’

This will take place in the Round Hall from 24 June 2022 with a launch event including talks from Michael Fewer (author of Battle of the Four Courts and the curator of the exhibition), Ciaran O’Connor, the State architect and Catriona Crowe, former Head of Special Projects at the National Archives of Ireland. The exhibition will available over the summer months to view with guided tours available on Saturday 25 June, 2 and 9 July 2022. Book your tours here.
