About This Office

The courthouse at Swords:
Every Monday, 10.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. - criminal (hearings only).
Every Tuesday, 10.30 a.m. - criminal; 2.00 p.m. - family law (except third Tuesday of the month).
Every Wednesday, 10.30 a.m. - criminal; 2.00 p.m. - family law.
Third Tuesday of every month, 10.30 a.m. - civil.
First Friday of the month - special hearings only.
The courthouse at Balbriggan:
Every Thursday (except the third Thursday of the month), 10.30 - criminal; 2.00 p.m. - family law.
Third Thursday of every month, 10.30 a.m. - civil.
Third Friday of every month - hearings.

Family Law: domestic violence, maintenance of spouses and children, custody and guardianship of infants, family home protection.
Civil Business: Limit €6,348.69.
Licensing: Except annual licensing applications which are dealt with in the Licensing Office, Áras Uí Dhálaigh, Dublin 7.
Enforcement: Unlimited jurisdiction.
Small Claims.
Road Traffic Offences.
Criminal Business.
Business in relation to the Environmental Protection Agency, Control of Dogs, Local Authority and other matters that can be brought before the District Court by summons.

To reach the office on Bridge Street in Swords, turn left at the end of Main Street. The office is opposite The Pound Pub and beside the Castle Shopping Centre.

Swords Courthouse, North Street, Swords.

To reach the court on North Street turn right at the end of the Main Street.

By public transport to Balbriggan

From City Centre (Abbey Street): No. 33
By train: Balbriggan can be reached by train from Dublin, Dundalk and Arklow.

The Balbriggan courthouse is located at the Dublin end of Bridge Street beside St. George's Square, Balbriggan.
