Dublin Criminal Courts of Justice

The Dublin criminal courts have relocated from the Four Courts complex and adjoining city centre locations to a centralised facility to cater for all criminal business.

This building, which is located on the corner of Parkgate Street and Infirmary Road, is the Criminal Courts of Justice.

The criminal business of the District Court, Circuit Court, Central Criminal Court, Special Criminal Court and the Court of Criminal Appeal is now being transacted from one central office - the Dublin Criminal Courts Office - in the Criminal Courts of Justice.

The Bail Office is located on the ground floor in that building.

High Court Extradition lists are held in the Criminal Courts of Justice.

The Criminal Courts of Justice contains 22 modern courtrooms of various sizes enabled with modern technologies. Other facilities include a secure jury reception area and routes for jurors to courtrooms, consultation rooms, accommodation for witness, victim support rooms. Accommodation is also provided in the building for legal practitioners, An Garda Síochána, the DPP and the Probation and Welfare service.

Courtroom Allocation:

Ground Floor
Five non-jury courtrooms numbered one to five.
Courts 1,2, 3 & 4
District Courts.
Dublin District Court sittings on Saturdays and public holidays will continue to be held in Court 44, Chancery Street until further notice.
The night courts will sit in Chancery Street on weekends and public holidays also.
Court 5
Circuit Court.
Second Floor
Five courtrooms numbered six to ten.
Court 6
High Court.
Court 7
Circuit Court business.
Courts 8 to 10
Will be used for High Court, Circuit Court or District Court sittings as the need arises.
Fourth Floor
Six courts numbered 11 to 16.
Court 11
The Special Criminal Court. This is a non-jury courtroom.
Courts 12, 13, 14 & 15
Will be used for High Court, Circuit Court or District Court sittings as the need arises.
Court 16
District Court Appeals.
Sixth Floor
Six courts numbered 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 & 22.
Courts 17 & 18
District Courts.
Courts 19, 20 & 21
Will be used for High Court, Circuit Court or District Court sittings as the needarises.
Court 22
The Court of Appeal.
